Hamilton Council to Vote on Staff Report Recommending Projects for Provincial Greenhouse Gas Fund

The Province announced a $100-million fund for municipal greenhouse gas reduction, and City of Hamilton staff have completed a list of recommended projects to submit for funding.
Among the 39 projects staff are recommending to apply to the fund for are:

  • 50% of $1.5-million for expanding the Hamilton Bike Share and “modal integration”;
  • 50% of $6-million for the rehabilitation of the Ken Soble Tower at 500 MacNab North;
  • 25% of $2.2-million to connect the new Hamilton Police Forensic building to the new East Downtown Energy District; and
  • 25% of $3-million for the Central Library Window replacement.
