Hamilton’s public transit department, The Hamilton Street Railway, is officially a corporation which requires directors, executives, and the other administrative workings of a corporation. (In practical day-to-day operations, the HSR is just another city department.)
Historically, the HSR was a private company from its incorporation in 1873 until the City of Hamilton acquired it in 1960.
Council must meet to appoint the new Transit Director Debbie Dalle Vedove as a “Vice-President” of the corporation and Ward 7 Councillor Donna Skelly as a “Director” of the corporation.
The meeting starts at 9:30am on Tuesday, November 22.
