The Grand River Conservation Authority (GRCA) says it will increase its municipal levy contribution by 2.5 percent for 2024.

The City of Hamilton contributed $1,605,656 to the Grand River CA’s budget in 2023.

Southern portions of Hamilton’s watersheds drain towards the Grand River.

The proposed 2.5 percent increase will result in Hamilton paying approximately $35,000 more in 2024, with the GRCA requesting #1,639,233.

Hamilton City Council is expected to approve the funding in January.

Ward 13 Councillor Alex Wilson is Hamilton’s representative on the GRCA board of directors.
