The Hamilton Community Benefits Network, a coalition group formed to ensure community voices are heard during the construction of Hamilton’s Light Rail Transit Line, is now formally an LRT “stakeholder” with a seat on the City’s Light Rail Transit Sub-Committee.

Karl Andrus of the HCBN delegated to the LRT Sub-Committee on Monday requesting City Council formally recognize HCBN.

HCBN members include labour groups, environmental organizations, community organizations, social service agencies, and community associations.

Councillors on the sub-committee unanimously, and quickly, approved the request.
