The very active and involved Cameron Kroetsch launched the Downtown Sparrow today, a new site focused upon informing the neighbourhoods of Downtown Hamilton with information and data about local news, events, developments, and meetings.
Kroetsch says the name is inspired by the sparrows which nest behind Hamilton City Hall which see all the comings and goings at 71 Main Street West.
Kroetsch, who lives in Ward 2 and ran for City Councillor in 2018, says the site will track developments in the Ward and provide a platform for civic engagement. The site aspires to regularly file freedom of information requests suggested by its readers.
In the near future, with volunteer coordinators and moderators, the site hopes to expand to include Wards 1 and 3.
