Joey’s Notepad is where I post short notes in a microblog format.
Wednesday, I reported that the Hamilton Public Library is expanding hours starting in October and that in the event Hamilton needs to return to “Stage 2” COVID restrictions, the HPL will keep branches open for self-service instead of returning to curbside pickup.
The HPL report on hours stated that curbside pickup was labour intensive as a primary reason for not resuming this service.
In the HPL’s circulation report, the Library states only 6,930 physical items were circulated during the May/June pick-up service.
Considering the amount of work involved and the low take-up of curbside pickup, not returning to it makes a lot of sense.
