Flamborough’s business community had plenty of questions, and frustrations, about the Ontario Liberal government’s changes to the Employment Standards Act.

Many of the businesses in attendance say the changes are “too much, too fast”. Weeks’ Home Hardware says their decision to operate a new location on Queenston Road at Nash Road in East Hamilton was based upon a business plan using the present minimum wage, and they’ll be losing money at the location with the increase to minimum wage.

Judi Partridge, who is presently the Ward 16 (Waterdown) City Councillor, is the candidate for the Ontario Liberals in the 2018 provincial election in the new riding of Flamborough-Glanbrook. She spoke strongly in support of the changes.

The Town Hall was August 29, 2017.
