Hamilton PEDTalks “Improving Health by Design in the GTHA” (May 12, 2016)

Hamilton’s Planning and Economic Development department hosted Gayle Bursey, Director of Growth Management Strategy for the Region of Peel, who spoke on the topic of Improving Health by Design in the GTHA.

Bursey’s talk was based upon her work in the inter-regional report “Improving Health by Design in the Greater Toronto-Hamilton Area” released in May 2014 by the Medical Officers of Health for Hamilton, Peel, Simcoe Muskoka, and Toronto.

McMaster’s Jim Dunn, the Director of the McMaster Institute for Healthier Environments, added to Bursey’s remarks with additional focus on how better urban design can improve Hamilton.

There was an audience question and answer at the end of the talks.
