The owners of the City Centre Mall at 77 James Street North have commissioned a new noise study as their plans for a tall building redevelopment on the Downtown Hamilton property.
The owners, IN8 Developments, sent the City their final Site Plan application on April 4, 2022. City staff responded with comments.
Thursday, July 28, consultants were on the site completing an updated noise study.
This indicates there will be more revisions to the development plan in the coming weeks.
Noise studies are a critical component to development approvals. They determine noise mitigation requirements which is especially important for residential uses.
Once the City’s planning staff and developer reach an agreement on the Site Plan approval, it is expected minor variances will be required at the Committee of Adjustment.
